Those percentages are off, I think. Lenovo (IBM) had the lowest (best) repair rate for laptops, at 20%. Apple had the highest (worst), at 23%. Not a big diff between them, perhaps. But Apple's desktop rate was 17% (the best/lowest in the industry). And both number are far higher than their ppc based products. >Anecdotally, their failure rate is low. All 80+ of our (clients etc) MB and MBP have now required service - dead screens, batteries, power manager, trackpads, firewire & nic ports, a few hard drives, and six dead processors. Two only count sortof, I guess - one was gravitationally challenged and the other drank too much coffee. Now, our laptops all have good mileage on them; they don't just do simple work-home-class-home commutes. But still... less than 15% of our PowerBooks ever required repairs.
