For example, using Activity Monitor, playback of a Roy Hargrove "It  
Ain't Necessarily So" clip via Firefox shows my DA Dual 533 OS X  
10.5.7 cpu usage @ 150%.

Same clip downloaded, played via VLC shows cpu @ ~ 45%.
