Yes, VLC is a great thing! Actually, I want to ask something else: How does the amount of RAM affect performance?
Like Lyne, I have 896 MB (in my Digital Audio 466), and because it's so cheap now (12$) I just bought a 512MB module to boost the Mac to 1280 MB. (It hasn't arrived yet, so I don't know the difference.) Maybe some experienced guys here could give some hints what works better when you have more RAM?
