Do you have a Hardware Test Disc??? If you do I would run it... When you 
said that you got a picture on an external monitor and not on the display 
screen built into your computer there has to be a problem somewhere in the 
circut running to the display screen on the board... If it only has one video 
card then it has to paths running off of it one to the external plug and the 
other to the plug for the built in display... Now are you sure you are plugging 
that plug into the board for your built in display screen all the way in??? It 
also could be the main mother board problem too, I don't know if you tried a 
new one of them??? I think the person that mentioned something about a problem 
with the soldering on those computers would make sense to me!!! What you have 
is a G4 iBook "I would assume" and he wasn't sure which one you had???
