HEATER!

I've worked for long periods in close proximity to a bunch of 15K SCSI  
drives, and have tinnitus to remember 'em by. :-/ though to be fair,  
the turbofan-like whine of the cooling fans may have added to the  
problem, too.

Our 'server room/office' used to be about 15'x20' with desks for four  
people and a bunch of servers and three big raid boxes crammed in  
there...it was always very hot and noisy, and the fileservers+raid  
boxes sat on a table right behind me.
