I need some advice regarding graphic cards for my PowerMac. I bought a high-res display with DVI and VGA input for my G4 Digital Audio 466MHz, but I'm running it on VGA as the Mac's card (ATI Rage 128 Pro AGP4x) has no DVI out.
Now I'm not sure if it's because of that, but my eyes don't like this monitor (tired, headaches). Now I'm wondering: 1. Will the quality really be better with an ADC-DVI adapter (costs about 20 Euros over here) ? 2. Or would it be better to get another graphics card instead of an adapter ? I've already seen an ATI Radeon 9000 Pro for Mac for around 40 Euros, so it's not too much more than only the adapter, and then I could connect my old 15" ADC-display as a second monitor. Another card I'm eyeing at is a (cheaper?) ATI Radeon 7000 32 MB Mac (PCI) which has DVI and VGA outputs. Is it a disadvantage to have a graphics card in a PCI slot? For completeness: the new display is a ViewSonic VX1940w, running at 1680x1050 px (native resolution).
