This has nothing to do with just moving the HDs - the OS and apps will just work. Authorization is an iTunes issue ONLY. Its point being that it limits how many computers can be used to play the stuff you've bought from the iTunes Store. And it recognizes those computers with enough intelligence that the authorization won't magically move when you move the HD.
