Opps! The GCE-8240B ISN'T a SuperDrive, or even a Combo Drive, it's a CD-RW drive ONLY, this means NO DVDs at all. Only CDs and CDRW media. > Model: HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8240B > Revision: 1.05 Might want to update the firmware? The "last" version was Revision: 1.08 available here: <http://files.rpc1.org/index.php?act=view&id=1200> Normally, upgrading the firmware will give you better media compatibility, and perhaps better burn characteristics. The GCE-8240B is a 24x read, 10x write CDRW, so it's not too good by modern 52x standards, but it's probably serviceable. To upgrade the firmware you'd need to place the unit into a Windows PC, I don't think there are any Macintosh update programs. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
