I've seen large-enough SSD's for under $100, ut I don't know how well
they work in actual practice.

The price is higher than standard drives, but my thinking is that they
can be recycled into a newer machine eventually. I know they don't
last forever (only so many read-writes to a data spot), but I don't
know what that means in terms of years of service.

I'm also wondering when in the future getting such a drive will be a
no-brainer, like buying a conventional drive is now.
