If one uses the CCC method, the drivers might be an issue. Not every Mac uses the same drivers under Mac OS 7/8/9. On a different system there may be trouble. And you'd still need to initialize the hard disk with Mac OS 9 drivers and you'd need to prepare a seperate partition for the CCC-copied Mac OS 9.
