Go into /Library/ColorSync/Profiles on the weird G4 I'll bet there's a folder marked HP, possibly in a folder called scanners. Replace that folder with the analogous one from the other G4. There *might* be a profile for it in your user Library/ColorSync/ Profiles folder as well. As above, replace it with known good copies.
