Greetings,
  The best way to make sure you're getting a Rev. 2 motherboard is the
"402" marking on the CMD646 IDE controller chip.
    As far as removing the hard drive there should just be one screw
holding the bracket in place.  That screw is the front of the
bracket.  You have to unplug the drive to see the screw.  Remove the
drive and bracket and there should be four screws holding the drive
and bracket together.
