I don't think it is a driver problem. OS X at least 10.3.9 will recognize the
Syquest 44, 88, 200 MB drive family and mount the cart provided the cart and
drive are not damaged. If 10.4 removed those divers then your suggestions are
spot on.
More likely as has been suggested in previous posts it is SCSI ID or
termination problem.
If the OP is using the zip in the "terminal position" which I take to mean it
is terminated; then the zip must be at the end of the SCSI chain and the
SyQuest drive must not be terminated and have a unique SCSI ID different from
the ZIP (not ID 5 or 6).
Tom, if you are still out there and still have the problem let us know. I will
connect one of those old drives to my OS 10.4.11 G4 DA and check it out. I
still use these drives mostly on pre-OSX systems but sometimes I need to use
them in OS X. --glen
