I can't confirm any loading of extensions since I use Tiger.

What? You can look in System Profiler under "Extensions", although this
may not show every extension. For a complete list of every loaded
extension open Terminal and use the command "kextstat" without quotes
and hit the Return key. You can search the list with Find for "ADB".

I just tried kextstat ("kextstat | grep ADB") on one of my iBook G4s (OS 10.5.8) and got these items:

com.apple.iokit.IOADBFamily
com.apple.driver.AppleADBKeyboard
com.apple.driver.AppleADBMouse
com.apple.driver.AppleADBButtons

Trying it on my MBP (10.5.8) returned nothing with ADB in it.
