Yes it is, but it's really very simple. The key is to correctly identify what hardware you have. In and effort to make sure you buy only Apple hardware, they produced the ADC video connection while the rest of the world went to DVI. Technically, ADC seems like a good idea because it also provides the monitors power minimizing clutter. However, you had to buy the matching Apple monitor. For an ADC video card to work it needs a Mac with the extra power sockets on the motherboard. Since you have a DVI socket on your video card, it might be an aftermarket one.
