I never installed anything. And I don't have Windows. I do have Snow
Leopard and the MBP is an Intel. It just let me write to it..
Humm... it appears that Snow Leopard added the ability to write to
NTFS without any extra software, but it also appears that this feature
was not fully implemented and requires a slight system modification to
enable this "hidden" feature. If you've never enabled the hidden NTFS
writing feature this would appear to be an anomaly.
It mounts and I can get files off with the PPC G5 but I can't write
to it.
Yes, you'll definitely need extra software in any OS prior to Snow
Leopard, which means all PPC Macs.
