When I start up my quicksilver G4 I recently started getting the

it gives me the option of permitting or refusing. I have always

Then, when I tell the quicksilver G4 to shut down I get a long delay
and then the message "application MirrorAgent" will not quit and I
cannot shut down the computer until I force it to quit.
Who are these people who have taken control of my Mac?
Somewhere along the way you set up .Mac to synchronize your data.
Then you applied an update to the OS, which updated those components.
Now those components need permission to access your .Mac account.
Either turn off the sync or give 'em the permission.
