external FW USB 320 drive
I confused my self tonight and booted 10.5 with an Intel MacBook
and did a clean install, I thought that the drive had to be
formated GUID to boot an Intel machine, This drive I have is Apple
partition Map because I use it to boot all my PPC stuff and have
basic CCCs on it> Why does the MacBook boot from it.
Apple fixed that. Either partition type works. GUID is simply
"preferred" for x86 Macs.
Will GUID work on PPC? If theres a PPC CCC on it?
If you're running OS X 10.4.6 or newer, then the PPC Mac can
recognize/mount/use a drive with a GUID partition map. I doubt you
can boot from it tho -- that would require changes to the PPC Mac's
firmware.
CCC should have no problem making a backup. It just won't be bootable.
