Richard, You got a PC video card, which won't work at all in a Mac. It's that simple. (Maybe it could work, but it would need to be "flashed" beforehand using a PC, so that's out for now.) You need to put back the old video card for the computer to work.
Your G4 is a Digital Audio, if I'm not mistaken, and it won't read more than 128GB in the HDD. For the whole 250GB to be seen and addressed, you'll need either a PCI controller o a piece of software called the Hi-Cap driver from Intech. Both will cost you money, I'm afraid. Another solution is to use the big drive in a Firewire external enclosure --which will also cost you dough if you don't have one handy. Always try to do your homework before trying to upgrade your Mac, to see what works and what doesn't.
