Well, for anyone who might be interested and saw that I did in fact place an "In Search Of" post on the Swap List looking for anyone willing to sell their Dual 1.8 GHz Sonnet Duet CPU Upgrade for less than the amount shown in the ebay auction ($266+$20 shipping), I got exactly zero responses. Meanwhile, one of the two units that was available in that auction has sold.
But after thinking about it over the weekend, I think I need a new(er) powerbook more than I need this toy, so I'll be looking around for that first.
