Hi list, I have a Power Mac G4 Digital Audio that I'm looking to upgrade for a friend. It is the 466 MHz model, running OS X 10.4.11.
My friend wants to install Leopard, but given the speed of the CPU, that's not happening any time soon without some Open Firmware voodoo. So I instead suggested upgrading the CPU to a faster one. Which brings me to my question: what are some good compatible upgrades for DA Power Macs? I've seen Sonnet kits, OWC, and even people successfully pulling CPUs from some later model G4s and transplantating them with success. I do have a pulled CPU from a Quicksilver 2002; any ideas if that would work?
