There are two 133 MHz processor standards: DA and QS. Processor card power comes from the motherboard on a DA. Processor card power comes through a stand-off screw on a QS. It is possible to install a QS processor in a DA PROVIDED the required +12 volts for the processor card is separately provided. The usual way of doing this is to provide a cable with a Molex connector on one end and a #10 eyelet on the other. Pin #1 on the Molex for +12 volts. Also, the required fan power is different between a QS and a DA. The usual way of doing this is to provide a cable with a Molex connector on one end and mating connector on the other end. Pin #1 for the Molex; pin #2 on the Molex for +12 volts return. -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
