I am not (yet) familiar with either the Linksys WET54G in particular
or setting up a wireless bridge in general, but I'm perhaps too stupid
to let that stop me.

My first question would be what sort of a setup are you trying to get
working? From your comment about plugging the WET54G into a wired
router I'm wondering if you are attempting to use it to bridge an
existing wired LAN into another existing wireless (and possibly wired)
LAN. Yes? No? Maybe?

Are you able to bring up the admin web page used to configure the
device? Usually I'd point someone towards the help page on the LinkSys
site. However, it appears that it assumes you are using Windows to set
up the bridge and I expect you probably are using a Mac, no?

If you are trying to do anything more complicated than just allow a
single device such as a computer or a printer or whatever to connect
via wired ethernet to a wireless network you'll need to provide more
details about your network topology to get assistance.
