No. Do a Verify Disk. If it finds errors then boot on your OS X DVD and run Disk Utility again - and Repair Disk. NOT repair permissions.

I have MacJanitor. Is that program not good enough? I did
have OnyX but I took it off my drive. Maybe I need to go get it back!

MacJanitor is ok for running the scripts. As a maintenance tool goes... MacJanitor is to OnyX as a stubby screwdriver is to a whole Sears store.
