> 10.5 is a great OS, but on PowerPCs Tiger is IMHO the best choice. True, but ...
> If you want 10.5, have it installed on a [ separate ] partition alongside > Tiger... Right, and ... If you are running a Hackintosh, then almost anything from 10.4.8 through to (just) yesterday's 10.7.2, and perhaps (pretty soon) tomorrow's 10.7.x or even 10.8.x will ... mot likely ... work. Incredibly enough, non-gen-u-wine-Apple hardware has proved itself itself to be MORE COMPATIBLE with MacOS X software than has gen-u-wine Apple hardware. Go figure! I keep around several ... well, MANY ... gen-u-wine Apple platforms * , but every one has support issues which are of APPLE'S MAKING. However, I also have MANY Hackintoshes, and none of those have any support issues which are not of MY MAKING. I also have paid-up licenses for every MacOS X from 10.3 on, including the server versions (yes, "unlimited clients") of those. But, I tend to run the server versions of those, and for my money, which is the only thing of relevance to me, Lion and Server Lion now makes the most sense, to me. * I also own, and use nine ... count 'em ... NINE Apple Network Servers (one ANS 500 and eight ANS 700s, most of which have been upgraded to 200 MHz CPUs, and all of which have the functional maximum of 512 MB of EDO/FPM 60 ns parity RAM). -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
