Not even sure what those ARE (ignorance is not bliss, but better
to admit and learn)
When you use Go> COnnect to server to attach to it do you use
SMB:// to connect? (from the description in the manual you would
almost have to.)
ummm.... I open a finder window, click on NETWORK... and it shows me
what's on teh LAN, usually the other macs here and the NAS shows up
as something like SC400.
What Dan said plus this: if you're using SMB on the G5 to connect
(and there really isn't any other option per their docs) SMB
under 10.4 suxrox bigtime. If you can update that G5 to 10.5 it
will be a lot better.
is there a down-side to this OS upgrade?
THe few applications that were the rasons I had held this machine
at 10.4.11 have finally moved up... I do have things like APPLE
WORKS still in use onit..
Anything that runs only in Classic won't work; stuff like
Appleworks will run just fine.
shouldn;t be a worry then.
