Take your time and watch eBay listings. I am floored by the fact that the Dual 2.5GHz is now under $200 shipped. I mean a sale yesterday for $91+$50 shipping = $141. It contained 2.5GB RAM, no HD, but if you already own an OS disc and have drives..... I don't know the benchmarks for these units, but I'd expect it will be greater than 3X the 1GHz machine you have.
At <$200, I'm tempted to update one of my older G4s, even though I have a newer Mac Pro.
