Something's definitely amiss. Perhaps reinstall the 10.4.11 PPC Combo

With this in mind, anyone know why having installed HP drivers for a
C3100 printer, that the system can;t seem to find it?
Lots of possibilities. Did you add the printer in System
Preferences>Printing? Is CUPS running? (navigate to <http://localhost:631/
> in any browser, should see CUPS page). If you don't see the CUPS
homepage, reinstall CUPS 1.2.12 from here:
<http://ftp.easysw.com/pub/cups/1.2.12/cups-1.2.12.dmg>
Are you using the latest update for the HP drivers, I believe v.9.7.1
of 1/30/2008?:
