Running Mail 2.1.3 on a G5 with 10.4.11. Connecting to a POP server
I am having connection issues to my mail server, hosted by a small firm. I frequently get the connection issue (I am pretty sure that is it) icon when checking mail. The icon that is an exclamation point in a triangle inside a circle. It normally goes away the next time Mail autochecks for new mail, but right now it has been in this state for 45 minutes.
I am looking for the error log that might give a hard reason for this (can't find server, too many connections-connection denied, whatever) to pass on to the hosting company, since I am probably the most tech literate customer.
The only Mail logs I can find are in /var/log/mail.log (and mail.log. 0.gz through mail.log.4.gz). None of these have any entries for today, and the issue is going on right now.
