There are a number of Android utilities that will backup the phone to
internal storage (they actually run on the phone itself). If your phone has
a microSD slot, then it simply appears as USB Mass Storage to the Power Mac,
and you can copy anything on the card in that slot (including any backups you
have made) directly to the Mac.

If the phone does not have microSD, like the Galaxy Nexus, you have to use
MTP which is a little trickier, but should still work.
