Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: win32 Group: 2.0.0 beta 4 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: totensiebush (totensiebush) Assigned to: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Summary: messages take time to appear Initial Comment: Some IMs don't immediately show up, and wait until another message is sent or received to be displayed. This is true for both incoming and outgoing IMs, and I have not experienced it with previous versions. The timestamps and sounds for the messages appear to be correct, they just don't show up. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: RogueWolf (theroguewolf) Date: 2007-03-27 12:46 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1754261 Originator: NO I have the same problem with Gaim 2.0.0 Beta6 on two different XP Pro SP2 machines. The message also appears if gaim is minimized then restored. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Andreas M. (fun2life) Date: 2007-01-26 13:29 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1627692 Originator: NO and I'm using the msn, btw. the ICQ smiley theme, no updates, no extensions ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Georg Lippold (g_lippold) Date: 2007-01-26 13:23 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=569572 Originator: NO My protocols are AIM/ICQ and Jabber and the smiley theme I use is Trillian-Smileys from kj (TrillianSmileys + Extension v0.1). The smileys are sometimes animated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Andreas M. (fun2life) Date: 2007-01-26 09:27 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1627692 Originator: NO Yeah, that might be true what g_lippold writes. I can't remember having this problem when chatting with people and not using smileys. The message doesn't just appear when writing or receiving another one. It appears as well by clicking into the message box. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Georg Lippold (g_lippold) Date: 2007-01-26 09:22 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=569572 Originator: NO sed s/line/message/g ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Georg Lippold (g_lippold) Date: 2007-01-26 09:19 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=569572 Originator: NO It also happens often for me under Windows XP with SP2. I have the feeling that it happens more frequently when Gaim diplays mixes of lines with smileys and without. It happens more often when a line containing no smileys is displayed after a line that contains smileys. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Will (wklyver) Date: 2006-11-29 03:08 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1219501 Originator: NO I have the same problem with Windows Media Center Edition. (I don't want to be using it, trust me). I am connecting through a lan with no proxy or anything of the sort. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Andreas M. (fun2life) Date: 2006-10-25 05:54 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1627692 I'm using Windows XP Pro as well, but without SP2 (I'm using SP1a). The problem encounter in MSN, but just by sending messages. I didn't use any other protocols with the new beta yet. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: totensiebush (totensiebush) Date: 2006-10-24 18:37 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1626179 this is with Windows XP Pro, updated etc. I am not using a proxy. I have only encountered it in AIM so far, as it is the only protocol I use. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2006-10-24 16:10 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 what sort of system is this and what protocol(s) are you hitting it with? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Andreas M.
