Category: gtk-ui Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: JiveMasterT (jivemastert) Assigned to: Etan Reisner (deryni9) Summary: function to add to the base size of a given theme Initial Comment: Seeing as how Wimp overrides the base font size in the GTK, it makes your fonts really small in Gaim. Some of these can be overridden now with the GTK plugin, but the fonts on your buddy list and in the away message box are still really tiny. Could you please just add a small option to add to the size of ALL fonts in the program so that people can make the fonts as big as they please globally? so far this is the ONLY thing I have a problem with in gaim and having this feature would make it so much better. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2007-04-17 15:40 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 Originator: NO As we are closing this tracker, please submit any feature request that is still valid to http://developer.pidgin.im. We don't set the font size, GTK+ does. Modifying this from a gtkrc should be possible. If it's not, I'd suggest talking to the people that make the WIMP theme. Really it should be honoring your Windows font settings. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: JiveMasterT (jivemastert) Date: 2005-12-22 13:50 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1363164 I would assume that it would be pretty simple, but that is an assumption as I have not written any code or even looked at the source. I may have to do that when I get home today. I mean, if you set all of the font sizes for the various items to whatever + globalFontModifier where globalFontModifier is a public variable that can be added to every font size, then it would be very simple to add to the font size of every object with one simple menu. I think everyone would find that to be a pretty snazzy option, even those not using Wimp. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2005-12-22 11:54 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 I've not used windows in years. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Ankit (rageboy04) Date: 2005-12-22 11:22 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1276942 i agree. i can't find options to change buddy list fonts etc using wimp ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: JiveMasterT (jivemastert) Date: 2005-12-22 10:57 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1363164 That does not apply when you are using the Wimp theme as I stated above. Tested on two different PCs. If you have a way to change the size of every font when using Wimp, let me see your config file. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2005-12-22 08:42 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 http://gaim.sf.net/faq2.php#q18 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=350235&aid=1387733&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
