Hi Benjamin,
When using the public Main instance at usegalaxy.org
(https://main.g2.bx.psu.edu/root), wait times can vary, even for the
same exact job. It just depends how busy we are, what the other jobs
queued/running are like (how much resource they require), and related
factors.
But giving our user community a general idea of how busy the public
resource is a good idea. Our team has reviewed this idea before, and
there are some technical considerations around giving a precise
estimate, but a generalized idea may be possible. This is still in
discussion.
Meanwhile, you can always write in if you have a question. Right now the
server is busy, and reported delays have been up to a few days, but I
think these are longer for people that are deleting/restarting jobs. If
you start a job and just let it run (stay in the queue to move up in
line and then execute when a processing window opens), this wait time
should be less than 24 hrs for most mapping/NGS jobs, and smaller local
jobs (Text Manipulation, etc.) are starting almost immediately in many
cases, from my experience.
Hopefully this helps,
Jen

Hello,
I am new user to galaxy and I was wondering if there is a way to
estimate the average delay before execution of currently submitted
jobs in galaxy?
