I am in the process of creating a game like that. It's called the lethal engagement, and uses the GMA engine. The first thing you'll do is that you'll walk toward the hanger, stopping at different places to outfit your plane with weapons and other accessories. Then, you'll get into your plane, and your weapons will be installed. Then you'll take off. Taking off will not be easy though, because if you go up too quickly you'll smash the plane into the ceiling of the hanger, and if you wait too long you'll smash it into the wall of a building. Then the real fun starts. You'll fly your plane around, bombing enemy bases and shooting down enemy aircraft. There are three types of missiles. The first type, stinger missiles, are very fast and highly maneuverable but don't do excessive damage. Be careful though, because little things add up. The second missile is the sidewinder, and it is highly maneuverable but slower then the stinger, and does more damage. The third type is an antimatter missile, and though it is not very maneuverable it is fast. Just one of these will blow you or your enemy sky high. You will also have missile interceptors as in Tank Commander. In fact, my vision for the game is much like GTC--but in the air. It will not so much be a strategy game as it will be a fast-paced arcade game though, unless I get really good at programming with the engine.
