Hi Kevin, The entire purpose of experience points is to apply them to increasing your magical powers, skills, and other features. By all means train up your skills so you have some higher ratings than that. My MR right now is close to 50. Of course I have a lot of skill in weapons and a specialty in slashing. I'd say really work on your weapons skill, then get yourself a sword, seak out Theona and get a specialty in slashing. Then, see the munk and get a specialty in bashing weapons. If you want you can get skills in archery which comes in handy as well. If you are getting killed aloot there is usually two very possible reasons. Either your skills are to low for the task, or you rolled bad stats for your character to begin with.
