Hi Lenron, That is probably the best option. I know Che is beta testing a new 2.0 version of Rail Racer so perhaps waiting until it comes out is the best decision rather than messing with the older 1.x versions.
Now, as to installing DirectX did you try the web setup or the full installer. It might make a big difference which you tried downloading and installing. Cheers!
