Are you sure you're running python 1.4?

Most widely adopted/largely in use version of python nowadays is 2.7 as far as I know - but/and, that' s what I work on/run on my windows PC, and when recently tested/tried out something on a ubuntu/linux machine it seemed to be running version 2.5.

Either way, just asking since would guess that that might be an issue if python 1.4 is a bit out of date/old?

Unless, I'm just mistaken, and that version number has something specific to do with it's implementation on a mac machine..?

Could otherwise, also try out one of those .pyc files for you if you like, and see if they operate on this windows machine, running python 2.7, since also have pyGame installed here, etc., but anyway..?

Stay well

Subject: [Audyssey] Python Games On the Mac?

Hi, all,

I'm not a programmer, but I'd call myself an intermediate computer user, and I'm not afraid to try command-line options. I've run across a few Python games, but they don't launch. I'm using Mac OS X 10.8. I've installed Python 1.4, PyGames, and PYOCJB. When I run a .pyc file indicated for a particular game, the terminal launches and nothing else happens. Am I doing something wrong? The file association option indicates that it's using "Python launcher" for these files.

Thanks,
Teresa
