If you missed the message on level eight, you missed some monsters. With only one exception (that of level one), the messages are found on the last monster you kill in a level. So this means the message has no fixed location. It could be in the very first room if you missed a monster there. I'd backtrack through the level and explore more carefully. it is there. Eihe that or you just forgot to pick it up. It ain't pretty when the pretty leaves you with no place to go. J.D.
