Hi Will,

Well, this is something that is always changing, but the last time I
was at Walmart, for example, I saw an inexpensive HP for about $325
with Windows 8, a 2 GHZ duel core 64-bit processor, 4 GB of ram, and
a load of trial and demo software. Something like that would be fine
for playing games although Windows 8 and a 64-bit processor isn't too
good for a lot of our older games. However, you can find a decent
machine for under $400 depending on where you look. Also there are
always refurbished laptops for sale on Ebay with Windows XP, Vista,
Windows7, etc available which is also a possibility too, and buying an
older model that has been refurbished generally costs less than a
brand new system. Just look around and you'll find something in your
personal price range that can serve as a dedicated gaming machine.

Cheers!
