Hi Shaun,

Sheesh, you got seriously ripped. You don't have to pay $1,000 for a
laptop unless it is top of the line. Here in the United states an
inexpensive laptop costs between $300 and $500 for something on the
really cheap side but decent. Double that for something really good,
but $1,000 is way too high for a standard laptop. The only thing I can
figure out that can account for such a price is exchange rates and
extra import/export costs that double the price beyond what it would
be for someone else in the United States.
