Hi James, Well, I never had that problem with Ankerhead before, and it could simply be an issue with the interpreter you are using rather than the game itself. For reference I usually use the Frotz interpreter for Linux, which is similar to Dos Frotz, rather than something like Winfrotz for Windows. So maybe that has something to do with it. I don't know. All I can say for sure is I have not experienced Ankerhead closing down on me while playing.
