Hi jim.
Workbench as I said was not really anything you could use even to type
standard stuff, it was just really used in programs, but it was amusing at
the time.
If you've ever heard the original doctor who cybermen from the 1960's
though, you can see just how creepy and atmospheric bad quality synths could
be, indeed in the Doctor who community the voice of the original cybermen
got a lot more praise than the later offerings since they far more showed
the style of a race who'd upgraded themselves to the point of removing all
emotions for the purpose of survival, than the later booming, intimidating
villain voices. (the new series cybermen are a little less that way but not
quite as robotic as the originals).
I actually wish I could find a reasonable sample of the cybermen from the
60's saying their catch phrase "you shal be like us" though the only clip I
found of it on youtube was rather long unfortunately.
Beware the Grue!
Dark.

Hi Dark,
I don't think that I have ever heard or heard of the Amigar workbench
synthesizer. Sounds like you have fun with it and that it made some games
fun to play. I do think that it would be fun to have some old synthesizer
speech in some games.
