It is the same with pretty much any skill. As you practice with easy concepts you will learn more and be able to tackle more difficult concepts. All you can do is start with the skills you do have and put in the time necessary to become better at these things. Don't limit yourself by believing that if you're not currently good at something you can not become better at it.
