Star traders has slightly different navigation to smugglers or core exiles. once you double tap a planet in the navigator, or one of those nav links in the cargo or rumours screens you have a waypoint set. think of this like setting your course in a sailing ship. If you use the zoom button there is a button called start which will actually start you travelling to where you go, also as I said don't orget to check the distance for the journey at the top of that zoom screen before hitting start. hth.
