Hi Dark, You are quite right. There are already lots of treasure hunter/adventurer type games out there. So there isn't any need to create another one based on Montezuma's Revenge given that it would basically be more or less like other such games.
That said, I personally was not considering creating a text adventure like this anyway. For one reason I have had enough of Montezuma's Revenge, have already had more than I want to do with the legal entanglements with that game, so have absolutely no interest in creating anything to do with that game or its characters directly. Although, I have considered doing something similar to it with my own ideas, characters, and storyline.
