Hi Lanie.

if you go to www.audiogames.net you will find a database of accessible games, if you use the "Search gamelist" option at the top of the page you can order the games by license type, such as freeware or donation. (donation in this case means optional donation rather than say a constant subscription).

As to some ideas, as Tom said it depends upon what your looking for. ~Jim Kitchin has some great arcade and traditional games, as does Ian humphries of spoonbill in his Bg series.

Adventure at C: is an extremely good free action side scroller action game, there are the games by aprone such as castaways, towers of war, and lunimals which range from arcade to stratogy (swamp is his only commercial title), there is terraformers which is a now freeware adventure game, and traders of known space arecently released free space trading sim.

There are then a hole bunch of text games from the gamebooks on the ffproject site, to the free exploration rpg kerkerkruip, not to mention many free online mud games including Alteraeon (which is extremely blind friendly and has a soundpack that turns it into a full online rpg), and Clok mud which has a survival and crafting system so detailed even making a camp fire feels like a realistic achievement, it's like being lost in the wild but without the chance of actual death!

There are then many browser games from Sryth, to Kingdom of loathing and puppet nightmares, as well as simpler affairs like the pet care game furry paws, and even all those I've mentioned here (all of which you can find out more about on audiogames.net), is only a small selection of all that's available.

Have fun finding out, and if you have any questions pleased ask.

All the best,

ark.

Subject: [Audyssey] Best Free Games for Windows

Hi. I'm a new member, so I've never posted before. I just had a few questions. Does anyone know of good free audio or text-based games for Windows? They can be downloadable or browser-based. I have a Windows 8.1 laptop.
