I found racing class 1 and 2 tracks taught me what I needed to know 
well as things are introduced step by step.  To make the game more 
enjoyable for new players in particular, its good to pick a track 
early on you like and practice to get yourself a good time and 
hopefully up the score boards, it never does confidence any harm and 
its fun to be competetive!  Also, Che did a tutorial which he 
released right before the game came out, it might be worth taking a 
listen if you haven't already.
