Hi Darren,
Yeah, often times having a good back story is as important to the player 
as the game play itself. Just think of the reaction from some members on 
list when I mentioned I'd take out any Tomb Raider logos and characters 
out of my tomb hunting game. They haven't seen or heard my game, but the 
draw of the Tomb Raider and characters is enough to get attention 
without the games content, plot, etc being revealed.
Anyway, adding random puzzles or other elements of that nature might 
make the game more interesting to play. I agree a long drawn out game is 
the most rewarding and fun to me. That is one reason I play Sarah a lot.
