Hi Che,
WHAT, ????
At 04:28 PM 4/16/2009, you wrote:
Regarding the Wii, they have a new attachment called motion plus
coming out that will make the Wii controller a one to one input
device. What that means is, no matter which way you move or twist
your hand, it can pick it up. The technology is amazing, as they
have managed to pack dozens of tyny gyroscopes on a thin wafer to
track all rotation. Couple this with the Wii's accelerometers and
you have yourself a true one to one virtual device, something that
would have cost thousands of dollars just a decade ago can now be
had for less than fifty bucks. I know a lot of you aren't familiar
with the wii input or why it is so special, but once it gets tied
to a good accessible game, I think the results will be amazing for
the blind community.
I have managed to get wii input into the PC on my end for the
fighting game. Next step is to program it to recognize
combos. Also, I have found a cheap blue tooth device at best buy
that works well for coupling the wii to your pc, this was my
biggest worry going into this, was finding a cheap enough blue
tooth hardware device, but this one is only 15 bucks.
anyhow, I'll update as more details come up.
Later,
Che

As you play with their help, you'll notice that there are trends to
how you bowl. For me, I don't move my person at all for the first
turn of the frame. Then, if I don't get a strike, I almost always
have to move six clicks to the right. Sometimes I'm wrong and the
pin's in the middle though, so I miss it. The best to play when
people are gone is the power throw training game, where you have
one turn per frame and the pins just keep increasing in
number. You won't know your exact score, but you'll know by the
music if you beat the high score and, if you earn a metal, about
what your score is--in the 600s for gold, 500s for silver, and 400s for bronze.

I was just about to ask this same question. My folks have a Wii,
and I'd like to know how I'd go about playing it when they were
gone. We have Wii Sports, Carnival Games, and Mario Kart or
something like that.
