Hi, Thomas,

I just installed BG Cribbage under Windows 7, and it worked fine. I played
one full game of Cribbage to see if I experienced any problems, and it
worked flawlessly. Anna makes a good reader, and the game was fun.

The only thing I did differently during the install is that I installed the
game in C:\Program Files (X86). This is the folder for 32-bit applications,
and I just assumed that all of the BG games would be. With that done, it
was fine.

Thanks for the info on the voices. I'll look into this eventually, to see
if they have any voices I want to buy.

Take care, and thanks for your help.

Subject: Re: [Audyssey] BG Hearts and Other Games

Hi Lora,
I don't know about anyone else but I've had some problems with the
Spoonbill games under Vista and Windows 7. I've as yet not been able to
figure out what exactly the problem is so am unable to give suggestions
as to how to solve the issues I've had.
As far as voices goes Microsoft Sam, Mary, and Mike all were dropped in
favor of Microsoft Anna when Sapi 5.3 came out for Windows Vista. So in
short a brand new Windows 7 installation only comes with Microsoft Anna
installed. That's fine by me as she is a better voice than Microsoft's
older Sapi 5 voices.
As far as getting more voices goes that depends on how much you want to
spend and the quality of the voice you want. One place that makes Sapi 5
voices is
http://www.cepstral.com
and there voices are decent and are fairly inexpensive as far as voices
goes. Generally, they are $30.00 USD per voice.
Another site that sells voices is
http://www.nextup.com
and they have several good voices for sale from AT&T, Cepstral,
Realspeak, etc. The only thing you need to be aware of is some are for
Sapi 5, which you want, and some are specifically designed for their own
products like Weather Aloud, Text Aloud, News Aloud, etc.
